Drone Strike Sparks Major Fire at Saratov Oil Refinery…!@#

A large fire broke out at the Saratov “Kreking” Oil Refinery after it was struck during a Ukrainian drone attack overnight on July 8, according to Russian and local reports.

Air raid alerts were issued at around 02:14 a.m., followed by multiple explosions reported by residents at approximately 02:40 a.m. The refinery, operated by Rosneft and located around 600–700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, was reportedly targeted by long-range drones.

The strike ignited a major fire in fuel storage facilities and refinery processing units, sending thick black smoke into the sky. Russian authorities reported one worker killed and several others injured in the incident.

As a security measure, temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Saratov Gagarin Airport, suspending arrivals and departures while emergency services responded to the attack.

The Saratov “Kreking” refinery is considered a strategically important energy facility, producing gasoline and diesel fuel. It was among several energy-related sites reportedly targeted during the latest wave of long-range Ukrainian drone strikes inside Russia.
